AIW: Empowering Children and Building Brighter Futures
At the AIW Foundation, we believe that all children, regardless of their circumstances, have the potential to thrive and grow into happy, healthy, and successful adults. The missing piece for many of them is a community that’s committed to helping them reach that potential. At our core, we’re child advocates. We see these children who are so vulnerable to things like abuse, sex trafficking, suicide, drug abuse, and other tragic circumstances, and we’re driven to help them, regardless of what it takes to do so. We aim to meet the unique and ever-changing needs of at-risk children until they’re ready to help themselves. From street outreach to partnering with local schools and social workers, we’ve had a direct impact on over 1300 children already, and we’re just getting started.
What We Do
For children experiencing homelessness, we provide clothing and other necessities with the help of our generous sponsors and volunteers. We’ve connected older children with worker training so they can start learning how to help themselves and their communities.
We’ve provided counseling for children struggling with the aftermath of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. Inadequate access to mental healthcare is often one of the greatest obstacles for children who come from rough beginnings, but we connect them with trauma-focused counselors who are committed to child welfare.
We also love helping foster children (and caregivers) by providing fun and educational opportunities for children in group homes. From field trips to training opportunities, we aim to give these often overlooked children everything they need for a successful and happy future.
We partner with other non-profit groups to provide the best possible care for as many children as possible. Through training, workshops, and direct child advocacy, we aim to make the world safer for every child.
As far as training and collaboration go, we wear many hats. We support ongoing education mandated by regulatory bodies. We collaborate with teachers in school districts to assist them in recognizing signs of abuse and neglect that are often overlooked. We also partner with social workers and counselors to address child advocacy concerns. Additionally, we provide training in workforce development and skills enhancement, aiming to connect young individuals with potential job opportunities in collaboration with local employers.
We’d love if you’d join us in our efforts.
Make a Difference for Children
Children are inherently vulnerable, and they’re often the most overlooked group in the world when it comes to rights and advocacy. As adults, we’re responsible for empowering the voices of children and meeting their needs when they aren’t receiving appropriate care or support. At the AIW Foundation, we can’t do any of this without the help of our generous supporters and volunteers. We appreciate every last person who’s committing their time to child welfare and advocacy. If you’re a child advocate who has time and energy to give to at-risk children, we’d love to meet you.
What Do Our Volunteers Do?
Are you willing and ready to help make a change for our youngest and most vulnerable community members?
We have many different types of available volunteer opportunities, so even if your skills would only lend themselves well to one particular area, we’d love your help and support! Every person makes a difference. We can also provide training to interested volunteers who are new to this type of work.
We offer direct outreach for children and families experiencing homelessness, child mentorship, worker training, and so much more. We’re also always on the lookout for new ways to help out, and we’re open to ideas.
We tend to have at least two events per month, with more happening around the beginning of each school year, as well as around the winter holidays. There are plenty of opportunities to help!
We Need Your Help
Many people want to help with our child advocacy goals, but they don’t have the time or ability to volunteer. That’s okay! We also need and value donations from child advocates everywhere. The work we do is meaningful and essential, but the resources that we provide to at-risk children cost money. We are able to do this important work and help our community’s children through the generosity of our donors, and we are immensely grateful for every donation we receive.
Who Should Volunteer?
Are you wondering whether or not you’d be a good volunteer for the AIW Foundation? If you’re already asking yourself that, the answer is almost definitely a resounding “Yes!”
Our volunteers come from so many different walks of life. While some of them are already involved in child advocacy and welfare in some capacity (like teachers, foster parents, and social workers), others have no prior experience with children or advocacy at all.
Our volunteers have big hearts and empathy for all youth. If you do too, we’d love to have you on our team.

Where Will My Donations Go?
We’ve directly helped over 1300 children so far, and we know we have the potential to help thousands more. Each donation will help us provide care and resources to a child in need.
Your donations go toward providing clothing and other necessities to children who are experiencing homelessness. They go toward counseling and support services for displaced children and children who have experienced abuse.
Your donations can put smiles on children’s faces, potentially faces that haven’t had smiles in quite some time.
Your generous donation will make a direct impact on a child who needs help and support. We can not overstate our gratitude for that.
